How it works
Set it up once. Every court date is covered.
No texting clients from your personal phone. No copying numbers. Your calendar does the work.
Connect your calendar
Sign in with Google or Microsoft, or paste any calendar link. Pick which calendars to watch. CourtRemind can never change or delete anything.
Add your clients once
Client and family phone numbers, each in English or Spanish. Pick them from a list — never retype a number.
Reminders go out automatically
14 days, 7 days, and 1 day before — or tap Send now anytime. Hearing continued? Reminders move with it. Clients reply C to confirm.
What one missed court date costs
One failure to appear costs more than a year of CourtRemind.
Whether you defend the client or post the bond, a missed court date comes out of your pocket.
Hours you can't bill — or bill twice.
- Motion to recall the bench warrant
- An extra court appearance
- Calls with a client who may now be in custody
One prevented failure to appear covers more than 17 months of Pro.
A no-show puts the whole bond on the line.
- The full bond amount, if the defendant isn't returned in time
- Recovery costs to locate and surrender the defendant
- Court time and paperwork to get the forfeiture set aside
Example uses a $25,000 bond. Forfeiture rules and deadlines vary by state.
Built for court
Family and cosigners get the reminder too.
Often it's a parent, spouse, or the cosigner on the bond who makes sure the client gets to court. Add them to any client, each with their own language and opt-out — and a more discreet message that never mentions the case.

Reminders come from attorney-approved templates — date, time, courthouse, and department. Your calendar titles and notes stay private, STOP requests are honored automatically, and every consent is recorded.

The research
Text reminders keep clients out of jail.
A 2025 randomized trial of 5,709 public defender clients in Santa Clara County, California, by researchers at Harvard, Stanford, and NYU, measured what automated court date texts actually do.
fewer bench warrants for missed court
Clients with a bench warrant at their next court date.
fewer clients jailed for a missed court date
Clients remanded to custody on a bench warrant.
warrant rate for clients who confirmed
Among clients who got reminders. The authors note this gap may partly reflect who chooses to reply.
About the study. Clients received automated texts 7, 3, and 1 days before each court date and were asked to reply to confirm — the same kind of reminder CourtRemind sends, on a schedule you control.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does CourtRemind know who to text?
You add each client once, with their phone number and any authorized family members or cosigners. When a court date appears on your calendar, CourtRemind matches it to the client by name or by a short code like #jperez. Anything it can't match shows up on your dashboard with a dropdown to pick the client.
Can CourtRemind change my calendar?
No. CourtRemind only reads your calendar. It can never change or delete your events.
What happens if a hearing is continued?
Move the event in your calendar as you normally would. CourtRemind sees the change and reschedules the reminders. Delete the event and the remaining reminders are cancelled.
What do the texts say? Is it confidential?
Reminders use templates you approve: date, time, courthouse, and department. CourtRemind never sends charges, case numbers, or your calendar notes. Family members get a more discreet version by default.
Do you support Spanish?
Yes. Each phone number gets its own language, so a client can receive English while their mother receives Spanish.
What counts as a text?
Each message to each phone number is one text. A reminder to a client, a family member, and a cosigner is three texts. Test messages to yourself are free.
What happens when my free texts are used up?
Reminders for hearings in the next 48 hours still go out, and everything else pauses until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted — your clients and court dates are waiting when you upgrade.
What if a client texts STOP?
That number is opted out immediately and won't receive further reminders. You'll see it on your dashboard.
